These are sentences that we unfortunately still regularly read in our customer reviews. Therefore, we would like to give you some transparency into our freight costs with this article.

Our main focus is on marketing different tile profiles, balcony profiles and skirting strips. These products usually have excess length and are therefore considered bulky goods for the shipping service provider.

Bulky goods - what is it?

Bulky goods are shipments that cannot be sent as a "normal parcel" at the parcel center due to their size, length, shape or nature. Shipping service providers such as DHL, DPD, UPS, GLS or Hermes specify exactly how large or how heavy a parcel may be. If you do not get the dimensions right, you may incur additional costs for shipping the package. It is also important to inform yourself in advance, because not every parcel service provider transports bulky goods.

When does a parcel become bulky goods?

A parcel is a bulky good as soon as it can no longer be processed by machine. Shipping service providers have optimally adapted their processes, centers and delivery vehicles to the parcel size they specify so that a package can be processed, distributed and delivered quickly. Bulky goods have to be laboriously sorted by hand, scanned and transported by a larger delivery vehicle. This means considerable additional work and expense for the parcel service provider.

We consider tile profiles and skirting boards longer than 1 meter as bulky goods. An exclusive contract with our shipping service provider allows us to charge you only €19.95 for express shipping of bulky goods for oversize orders. This sounds a lot at first, but you should keep in mind that excess length, bulky goods and handling surcharges apply here. In addition, the service providers charge us for additional services such as address changes and several delivery attempts (if the delivery should not work directly on the first day).

Bulky goods or not, we guarantee fast delivery. All packages go to us by express. If you order from us before 12.00 o'clock, the package will be on its way the same day. The delivery time is a maximum of 2 working days throughout Germany, with approximately 80% of deliveries reaching their destination on the next working day. Another service we offer is tracking and tracing until the final delivery. Should a package not be delivered, we are in close contact with our customers and shipping service providers to ensure the delivery as soon as possible.

Secure packaging of tile profiles to prevent damage

Tile profiles are long but relatively narrow. Without optimal securing, tile profiles can easily bend or scratch. To prevent this from happening, all machined surfaces of the profiles are covered with a protective film, which protects against scratches during transportation.

The tile profiles are stabilized with wooden strips and packed in cardboard boxes, so that the goods arrive at you in the best possible condition.

However, if something is damaged during transport, you can simply contact us by mail or phone and we will find a solution together.

Receiving damaged or wrong goods

Despite the great effort we make, we do not always manage to avoid transport damage. If you receive a damaged package or we have made a packing error in the order, please contact us via the cancellation form or by phone at 02602/9196490. We will immediately take care of the return and discuss the further procedure with you personally. In such cases, we usually send out a replacement promptly upon request or offer a refund of the value of the goods.

If you make a mistake when ordering, please contact us as well. However, in this case, you will have to pay the return shipping cost yourself. Send the items within 14 days after the cancellation confirmation and inform us briefly when the package is on its way back (preferably with a tracking number) to avoid internal waiting times in the returns department. You will then receive a credit note for your records and the amount credited via your chosen payment method. Alternatively, we offer pickup, for which we charge an expense and handling fee of €45.00, which we deduct from the credit.
